Modifications
- Created and refined environmental objects and surrounding area through iterative experimentation, resulting in a more defined and immersive play zone.
- Developed and tuned drone physics for responsive yet intuitive movement, simulating realistic FPV-like control behavior with stability enhancements.
- Configured gamepad controls (DualSense, Xbox controller) so that sticks mimic real drone controller input — throttle/yaw on the left stick, pitch/roll on the right — enabling authentic flight feel.
- Implemented random generation of non-overlapping blocks within a bounding cube on play start, adding dynamic variety and replay value to the scene.
Time Invested
- Object/environment experiments and final creation: 1.5 hours
- Drone physics experiments and final implementation: 3 hours
- Gamepad drone-style control configuration: 1 hour
- Random block generation system: 30 minutes
Outcome
Established a functional and responsive drone movement system with realistic controller mapping and randomized environments. The current state serves as a solid base for further development of a full drone-based game.
